Food was really good, service was AMAZING, and the atmosphere was very calm. Will definitely be back! The employee was SUPER NICE and we even received complimentary tea. Thank you!

Hidden gem!!! Amazing food!! We helped my sister move out, got supper hungry walked around the neighborhood. Looking for a burger and we found the orchids cafe!! We loved the fact that it wasn't packed. Happy greeting when coming in. Tried some of their honey lemon tea hot because it got cold by the time we found this spot. Tasted so good!! Ordered our food and hands down the best 👌 got the flat noodle soup with beef!! Gosh so soft and tender was that beef!! Now I dont like leaving food on my plate so really tried finishing the soup and noodles like I always do at other spots but I couldn't!!! This serving was so much!! Had to take some home!! Now we found a new favorite spot!! The service was just amazing!! 5 stars everywhere 💫💫💫💫💫

Ordered a brisket with rice, but they gave me a Japanese style base, even though it’s a Hong Kong Cha-Chaan-Teng. The Brisket Tendon that comes with 咖喱牛腩 was also clearly not stewed, was rather tough and hard, when it should be soft and break apart. Hot Milk tea was not smooth — it was rather watery. Service was really nice, but I’m not sure about authenticity of the food itself. Respectfully, for the price, I don’t believe it was worth.

Their Hand Shredded Chicken with Hainanese Rice is probably the most popular menu item! I can see why! Tender chilled chicken with very tasty rice, steamed cabbage, and ginger sauce. My only gripe was the saltiness... Shanghai Soup Dumplings were decent! Lots of soup. The pork filling was just average. The Pork Dumplings With Yellow Chives were better in my opinion! Juicy seasoned pork and the wrapper was a good texture. Definitely come here for a hearty meal and big portions! A hidden gem in the area. The owner was really kind and gave us complimentary Hong Kong Lemon Tea too!

2026 update: Another good meal at Orchids Cafe. No wait on a Sunday at noon. Since the restaurant was slow, I chatted with Kevin, the owner. He is a nice guy and grew up in SF just like. He remembered me from my last visit and gave me another free lemon ice tea. I'm not used to receiving free drinks and therefore tipped accordingly. My curry pork chop spaghetti $18 tasted good. It was a lot of food. Good times. Updated review: Nice people here. My lunch was a baked pork chop spaghetti $17. This dish is supposed to take 20 minutes but it arrived before that. While I was waiting, the waiter gave me a free lemon iced tea. What a nice surprise. I tipped accordingly as I didn't see the other customers get a free iced tea. The pork chops tasted OK. It had a smokey baked flavor. The sauce contained actual tomatoes. As for the crust, it was missing that traditional crusted layer. An increased in cooking time would have infused more flavor to the spaghetti. It was a good lunch today. Original review: This is my first time back to Orchids Cafe since they re-opened for indoor dining a year and a half ago.
